“See something, say something”- Curb extension mural - 22nd and q st se Washington, d.c.

The design for See Something, Say Something was informed by conversations facilitated with Kramer Middle School students in Southeast DC about LGBTQIA+ safety. See Something, Say Something serves as a reminder to speak up and support LGBTQIA+ students experiencing bullying and harassment for their sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression. The protective angel eyes and observing goddess at one intersection depict being diligent in identifying when LGBTQIA+ students need protection. The speech bubbles, protest sign, and voice goddess demonstrate taking action to create spaces for LGBTQIA+ young people, especially those living at the intersections, to safely learn and grow into themselves.
